BRAISED CABBAGE

BRAISED CABBAGE

This is a copycat dish of one of my favorite things to order at Hillstone. Give it a try! Serves 2.

INGREDIENTS:

1 head of cabbage, roughly chopped
½ cup white wine vinegar
¼ cup water
2½ Tbsp sugar
2½ Tbsp butter
JF Spicy Salt, to taste

TOPPINGS:

Fried egg (optional)
Goat cheese (optional)

PROCESS:

Preheat the oven to325º. In a medium saucepan, combine the white wine vinegar, water, sugar, and butter on medium heat.  Stir to combine the ingredients about 3 to 5 minutes. Place the roughly chopped cabbage in a Dutch oven and pour the vinegar mixture over this. Season with JF Spicy Salt. Braise in the oven for 2 hours. Serve with goat cheese or a fried egg on top.
