Super Simple Spicy Shrimp with Garlic Sauce

Super Simple Spicy Shrimp with Garlic Sauce

These super simple shrimp are so easy and best of all they can be made ahead and reheated. Serves 4 people.

INGREDIENTS

1lb medium size shrimp, rinsed and de-veined with the tail still on
5 cloves of garlic, minced
¼ tsp crushed red chili pepper flakes
½ tsp thyme, finely chopped
½ tsp JF Spicy Salt
3 Tbsp olive oil
JF Universal Salt

PROCESS

Begin by prepping the shrimp. Do not cut the tails off of the shrimp. Grasp the shrimp’s tail on the inside and carefully lift and pop the tail off – it should slide right off. Do not twist the tail because you will lose the last part of the shrimp.
Set cleaned shrimp to the side.

In a small pan over medium heat, begin to soften the garlic, crushed red chili pepper flakes, thyme, JF Spicy Salt and olive oil. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Cook for 10 minutes or until the garlic and thyme become fragrant. Pour this mixture into a bowl and set to the side.

Cook the shrimp in a small pan over medium heat being cautious not to overcook them. Sprinkle with JF Universal Salt. Once they curl and turn pink, they are done. Take them off the heat and spoon the spicy garlic mixture onto the shrimp.

Served over a salad or grains this would be a great dinner, but they are also a great afternoon snack.
