The JF Universal Salt Smoked Brisket….Calling it the “J&J” a group effort between Jesse and Jimmy for the Memorial weekend family BBQ. So delicious! Serves 12-16, with leftovers.
INGREDIENTS:
15-17lbs brisket, at room temperature, fat trimmed
Yellow mustard
JF Universal Salt
Sauce:
1 stick organic butter, melted
1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
1 cup water
¼ cup honey
PROCESS:
Cover trimmed, room temperature brisket in a light layer of yellow mustard. Generously season with JF Universal Salt, coating top and bottom liberally. You’ll need the 16oz bag! Smoke at 185º for 15-18 hours, overnight.
When ready, remove the brisket and place in a large foil pan with high sides.
Sauce
Whisk together the melted butter, orange juice, water, and honey. Pour over the brisket, coating well.
Preheat the oven to 150º. Warm the brisket in the oven for 1½ hours, then remove, cool, and slice against the grain to serve. Enjoy!
